Framing The World Through My Photographs

National Photographic Archive Gallery – Dublin

During a short visit to The national Archive Gallery I saw a Photograph of the 12 arch bridge in Ballydehob, which I recognised  as soon as I  walked through door.

This photograph is quite special to me as this is my nana’s family town, which I visit every year. In this photograph I can actually see my cousins work shop and his mothers house.

When speaking to Caroline she asked me why it was so special… apart from the fact that I could see my families house I wasn’t really sure. This reminded me of the theory of Barthes and the punctum, where something stands out but you can’t quite but your finger on what it is that stands out.

Pictures That I Have Of The 12 Arch Bridge.

All images are my own photographs –
