Framing The World Through My Photographs
Höch was a German artist which mainly worked in the Dada movement. Höchis best known for her work in the Weimar period, she was one of the originators of photomontage.
Höch’s work at Verlang working with magazines targeted to women man her acutely aware of the difference between the women in the media and reality. Her work place provided her with the images which she used as the raw material for her work.
‘Höchs work depicts brides as mannequins &children, reflecting the idea that women are as complete people have little control over their lives.’
Höch’s work is relevant to my work as she is a montage artist which is what I aim to achieve, as well as her having similar connections to the realisation of the differences to women in the media and reality, like my project.
